NANNY CRB CHECKS
Are you an individual nanny or a parent wanting to get a CRB check for your child-carer? Apply for one now through Royal Nannies.
A CRB stands for the Criminal Records Bureau. This is a police check performed by the Home Office which all nannies need in order to work with children.
The current legislation does not allow the self-employed or individual nannies to apply for a CRB check on themselves.
The only way to apply is through the nanny agency.
An Enhanced CRB Disclosure on a 'nanny' checks the following:
- Whether 'nanny' has been banned from working with children in a childcare role. If so, their name appears on the Protection of Children Act’s list.
- Whether 'nanny' has been convicted of any offences.
- Whether 'nanny' appears on what is formerly known as ‘List 99’. It is more recently referred to as Section 142 of the Education Act 2002.
The processing takes anywhere from six to eight weeks, but can sometimes take as little as two or three.
How much does a childcare CRB check cost?
The cost of CRB check with Royal Nannies is £62.
With a "mobile application" where the CRB consultant visits you or we post the documentation to you, the cost is £70.
How often should I have my CRB check renewed?
You should have you CRB check renewed at least every 12 months and/or anytime before taking a new childcare/nanny position.
